36th International Conference of the French Finance Association (AFFI)

36th International Conference of the French Finance Association (AFFI)

Located in Québec City, Canada, Université Laval, its Faculty of Business Administration (FSA ULaval) and Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) will be hosting the 36th International Conference of the French Finance Association (AFFI) in 2019.

For the very first time, the AFFI Annual Conference will be held outside Europe. Université Laval is both honoured and proud to have the privilege of being the first to hold this Conference in North America and to welcome you to Québec City, the capital of the Province of Québec.

Québec City is the cradle of French-speaking North America. This historic UNESCO World Heritage Site ranks among the most visited cities in the world for its safety, hospitality, quality of life and outstanding beauty. Its picturesque Old City is a living museum of narrow cobblestone streets, 17th and 18th Century buildings and soaring church spires, with the superb Château Frontenac towering above it all.

The AFFI is a community of scholars and practitioners working together to create and disseminate knowledge related to finance. The AFFI organizes two annual meetings (Annual Conference and Paris December Finance Meeting organized jointly with EUROFIDAI) with global participation. The AFFI also publishes three journals covering a wide variety of finance-related subject areas, and formally recognizes the contributions of researchers who enhance policy and business decision making in the field of finance. The AFFI’s Annual Conference has become a major international forum for communicating, encouraging, and celebrating the latest research in finance.

The 2019 Québec City Conference will bring together scholars in the fields of finance, investment, economics, wealth management and the broader social science disciplines concerned with financial topics and issues. It also aims to attract practitioners and policy makers interested in these fields. Interested scholars and practitioners are welcome to submit papers in all areas of finance and to participate in the discussion of the latest theoretical and empirical research. Authors of accepted papers are expected to serve as chair and/or discussant of a paper in their field. The conference will establish an inclusive and energizing atmosphere. All papers will receive a double-blind review. The AFFI also incorporates doctoral students engaged in financial research and education.
